SESSION 2- WHERE’S THE MONEY – INTRODUCTION TO ALTERNATE REVENUE GENERATION STRATEGIES

Has your organization identified all the revenue options available to it? Your organization will not want to overlook any of the new tools that have become popular in the corporate sector; nor do you want to undervalue the services you provide. This session will show you how to:
§ Create access to standard financial products (lines of credit, loans)
§ Assess the pros and cons of Corporate Relationship Marketing/CRM
§ Understand the pros and cons and tax consequences of sponsorships, advertising, online promotion, enhanced distribution of services, and other popular vehicles
§ Assess Value services provided
§ Assess the real costs of government funding
§ Identify social purpose ventures tied to your mission

A panel of experts representing corporate, foundation and other funding options will offer diverse perspectives on alternate funding streams:

“Arts in the Real World” Seminar Presented by TALA Hosted by CentralTrak in Dallas October 26, 2011 and November 2, 2011

TALA will present “Arts in the Real World”, a two-part seminar designed to provide working artists of all discliplines basic information on a number of topics including copyright and work for hire. On Wednesday October 26, Part One will feature TALA Staff Attorney Erin Rodgers leading an informative session covering copyrighting basics for artists. Wednesday, November 2nd, will feature TALA Advisory Board Member Jamie Baker and longtime TALA supporter Meg Gibson present Part Two, “The Business of Arts”. Both sessions will begin at 5:30pm with time for a Q&A. Please RSVP for both or either session at [email protected].

Artists and representatives of arts nonprofits will be given time to have a short consultation with a legal or accounting professional at the Spacetaker Artist Resource Center (2101 Winter Street, Houston, TX 77007).
