Law For Producers and DJs

Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts is proud to sponsor Law for Producers and DJs, presented by the Texas A&M University School of Law Trademark and Copyright Clinic.

A free legal crash course built for DJs and music producers. We’ll break down how trademarks, copyrights, and other IP protections apply in music, how to protect your name and your music, and what to know before performing or sampling someone else’s work. This session will focus on the basics of music law, with a discussion about what increases and decreases your risk of infringement so you can move smarter as an artist.

The event includes a presentation (1:00–2:00 PM) by Anna Garrison and Ani Tookoian from the Texas A&M University School of Law Trademark and Copyright Clinic, followed by a Q&A (2:00–2:30 PM) and Open Decks (2:30–4:00 PM). Open Decks sign-up and additional details to follow. Refreshments provided.
