“Copyright Law and Innocent Infringement” presented by John DeBoer, Member of the SBOT IP Law Section presented by The State Bar of Texas and TALA Wednesday, July 31, 2013

Mr. John M. DeBoer, licensed Texas attorney and member of the State Bar of Texas (SBOT) Intellectual Property Law Section – Public Relations Committee, will present general information regarding copyright law and SBOT resources available to the Public. Mr. DeBoer will then discuss aspects of “innocent infringement” in the realm of copyright and how artists can avoid it (or alternatively, utilize it).

To better serve local communities, the Public Relations Committee has developed programs targeted to applicable parties to raise basic awareness and education about Intellectual Property laws. First and foremost it is the Committee’s desire to outreach to the community. The presenters are attorneys and law enforcement professionals willing to interact with TALA, and provide commentary and answer questions in regard to the presented information.
